Life Coaching vs. Counseling:
Which Is Right for You?
Life Coaching might be right for you if:
You’re not in crisis - you’re just ready to level up your life, work, or relationships with more intention.
You want help getting unstuck, making a big decision, or finding clarity about your next steps.
You’re craving accountability, confidence, or momentum toward goals you’ve been avoiding or unsure how to start.
You’re looking to break free from unhelpful patterns and take action, not necessarily dive deep into your past.
You’re motivated by growth and personal development and want a thinking partner to help you move forward.
Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
Coaching is not subject to state licensure, allowing me to work with clients remotely across state (or country) lines.
Counseling might be right for you if:
You’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm and want to process root causes in a safe, healing space.
You're working through past trauma, family dynamics, or a life transition that feels heavy and complex.
You often feel stuck in patterns or reactions you don’t fully understand, and want support making sense of it all.
You’ve lost touch with yourself and want to explore your emotions, identity, and needs with depth and compassion.
You’re neurodivergent and looking for a therapist who “gets it” and will meet you without pathologizing your experience.
I do not diagnose mental health disorders or bill insurance.

I offer a limited number of sliding scale coaching spots for clients navigating financial limitations. If cost is a barrier, reach out. We’ll explore options together.
-
Coaching is goal-oriented, future-focused, and not a substitute for therapy or mental health treatment. If deeper emotional healing or clinical support is needed, I may recommend we explore therapy instead.

In this space, you don’t have to hide, shrink, or explain away your emotions. Together, we’ll gently explore what’s been holding you back, whether it's past wounds, present overwhelm, or old patterns that no longer serve you. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.
Begin your journey toward wholeness today.
-
Sessions are $130 per 60-minute session. I currently offer private pay only, as I do not accept insurance at this time.
-
A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for clients with financial need, typically ranging from $70-110 per session. These are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and reassessed periodically. If you feel you may benefit from this, let’s discuss what’s possible.
-
I’ve chosen not to work with insurance so I can offer the most personalized care possible, without needing to diagnose or share your information with third parties. This allows us to focus on your goals in a way that’s private, flexible, and collaborative.
Keeping your care private also ensures that everything you disclose remains confidential and in your control. Using insurance requires a diagnosis, which becomes a permanent part of your medical record. This may affect future job access, custody battles, and many more ethical implications.
Additionally, the Western medical model and traditional healing of the soul and psyche are not compatible, in my opinion. Managed care exists to maximize health insurers’ profits, not provide exceptional care and foster deep personal exploration. Often times, health insurance providers will deny care once they determine you no longer “need” services; this does not honor the depth and complexity of the human condition and on-going trauma from existence.

What to expect when working together
-
You won’t just talk about emotions, you’ll feel them, move through them, and transform them. In a Gestalt hour, you might dialogue with a part of yourself in an empty chair, experiment with new postures, or reenact a real-life moment. This is therapy that happens in the moment.
-
Healing doesn’t have to feel like homework. We’ll blend creativity, honest feedback, and humor as you clarify your values, set bold goals, and try new ways of being.
-
You’re in the driver’s seat. Whether you want deep emotional processing (therapy) or forward-focused action (coaching), we’ll go at a pace and depth that feels right to you.
-
With a background in exercise science, chiropractic care, and somatic healing, I bring the body into the room. Expect sessions that may include breathwork, movement, or nervous system tracking alongside traditional talk therapy.
-
Whether you're integrating a psychedelic experience, exploring spirituality, or processing something existential, you’ll find a “you’re-not-crazy” zone here. We’ll meet your experience with curiosity, respect, and grounded tools.
-
Sometimes, words aren't enough. We might reach for paint, poetry, or rhythm to help surface what's been buried, especially when trauma has silenced your voice.
-
Feeling disconnected or overwhelmed? Let’s take it outside. Walk-and-talk sessions or adventure-based therapy can reconnect you to your body, the Earth, and your inner resilience.
